Description

During this practicum class, students receive hands-on experience working in an AAALAC-accredited small animal research facility. Students learn about the operations of a laboratory animal facility, including animal husbandry skills and general care of laboratory animals. In addition, students will participate in and learn common laboratory research techniques using rodents during designated demonstration sessions.

Examinations

Students must successfully complete 84 hours of work in the animal facility and will be graded on attendance, participation, laboratory reports, and quizzes.
