Prerequisites & Other Registration Restrictions

The prerequisites are two semesters of General Biology, 01:119:115-116. The course is also an approved elective for the Biological Sciences curriculum and an elective in the Animal option for Biotechnology majors.

Format

Two 80-minute lectures each week.

Description

This course focuses on the anatomical structures and physiological processes that control reproduction across species. These include reproductive system development, spermatogenesis, female cycles, ovulation, reproductive behavior, fertility control, pregnancy, parturition and lactation. Emphasis is placed on reproduction in food-producing animals as well information about reproduction in non-farm species.
