Carey Williams, equine extension specialist in the Department of Animal Sciences and associate director for extension at the Rutgers Equine Science Center, has been honored with the “Outstanding Educator Award” by the Equine Science Society.
The awards recognized outstanding achievements across four categories, recognizing faculty who have significantly impacted brain health research and service. Each awardee received a commemorative plaque and a monetary award.
Henry Bignell, teaching instructor in the Department of Animal Sciences, was named the 2025 Teacher of the Year by the Rutgers Chapter of the Fraternity of Alpha Zeta, the national honor and service fraternity for agriculture and environmental studies.
Dr. Mike Westendorf, Animal Sciences Extension Specialist and Professor, retired on January 1, 2025, after 31 years at the Rutgers School of Environmental and Biological Sciences.
Dipak Sarkar, Distinguished Professor of Animal Sciences, and his team recently published the manuscript, “DPPA4 increases aggressiveness of pituitary neuroendocrine tumors by enhancing cell stemness,” in the journal, Neurooncology.
