Research
My primary research interests lie in the physiology of horses as it specifically is related to the well-being of the performance horse. My research focused on the study of aging in horses. I have studied the effects of stress on the equine immune system and am interested in the effects of physical and psychological stress on the endocrine and immune response in horses. As Director of the Rutgers Equine Science Center, I was also responsible for ensuring the vitality and sustainability of New Jersey's equine industry.
